Stevenson Square Greening

Working with Red Rose Forest, we crowd-sourced funding from the council, local businesses, city centre residents and commuters to green Stevenson Square for the first time in it's history.

Red Rose Forest invited us to partner with them on their project to plant 12 trees and a green roof on top of the disused public toilet in Stevenson Square. By joining together, we built public support for the project and secured vital funding from the local community.

The greening of Stevenson Square changed the space from a dreary, unused bus terminal, into a vibrant square and community hub. If you would like to see a similar project in your community within Greater Manchester contact Red Rose Forest via their website.
